Priority Setting Partnership (PSP)

The PSP Results Are In!

As part of an international engagement initiative, the PitCop study revealed the Top 10 research priorities for pituitary surgery in March 2025. These priorities were established through a global, multi-stakeholder consensus involving service users with lived experience, caregivers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and international professional and charitable organisations.

Key themes emerging from the Priority Setting Partnership include:

  • improving diagnosis and management to prevent delays

  • advancing surgical techniques and technologies

  • enhancing patient support and follow-up

  • optimising the prediction of outcomes and complications.

What were our top 10?

Thank you!

We would like to thank our partner organisations and everyone who completed the Pituitary Surgery PSP surveys and participated in the workshops. Your input was instrumental in establishing the Top 10 research priorities for pituitary surgery, ensuring they reflect a broad and diverse range of perspectives.

Going forward, we hope these evidence-based priorities will:

  • drive greater investment

  • guide future innovations

  • shape the research agenda for the next generation.
